Are You There Internet? It’s Me, Marlee.

While redesigning my website, I browsed old fashion blogs and remembered a time I used to check them like it was my job. In the spirit of my blog-loving adolescence, I’ll be sporadically posting here (possibly into the ether, perhaps for an audience of none).

To kick things off, a confession: I just watched Hello, Dolly for the first time. That’s right, this theater-loving gal was overlooking a real gem. Instead of responsibly dozing off on my red-eye flight, I turned on Hello, Dolly and couldn’t bear to fall asleep while Barbra and co. executed theatrical perfection. The costumes! The music! The acting! The dreamy haze of a 1969 film with a light color palette!

I’ve pulled some stills of my favorite shots above to peruse, for your inspiration. I’m grateful I didn’t watch this film earlier for fear I would have viewed the character of Dolly Levi as a how-to manual, thus embarking on a meddling matchmaker side quest. After all, isn’t my life’s pursuit to try on roles?

All my love and then some,

Marlee Forsyth
